YouTube Was First

Our website, this website has just gone live. We did start this adventure much earlier though. Our YouTube channel Cattail Chronicles started almost a year ago. We have been getting a good response from our viewers. In fact, subscriptions are building much faster than we anticipated. That is one of the reasons we decided to get more serious and expand our endeavor. The youtube channel was more of an excuse to go out and have fun with our cameras and enjoy each other’s company. With viewers’ interest being displayed by the rising subscription rate we saw an opportunity to increase our outings and our enjoyment of them. In fact, I have chosen to up my commitment to Cattail Chronicles by leaving my full-time, salaried job to spend more time working (playing?) with Cattail Chronicles. This website is the first of many projects that I have completed in pursuing this new endeavor.

www.thecattailchronicles.com will provide additional information for our youtube followers and open up new avenues for people to follow us on our adventures. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. While that may be true, I would maintain that a picture also generates a thousand words. That is one of the frustrations Monique and I have felt in running our channel. While generating the videos for our channel is fun, there is always more that we want to say. Insights gained during the videoing, content that was not included in the video for brevity or clarity, and afterthoughts that we have as a result of going through the process. These reasons and many others related to the process of going on the adventure and producing the videos may be communicated through this website.

One of the features that will help us communicate our ideas in this blog. We will write and publish an entry for each video that we upload to YouTube. We will also work backward to create a blog entry for our past videos.

In addition, we can share more of our still photos in a more static fashion using this site. In the future, we may even sell some as prints in various fashions. We have started sharing with a Favorites Gallery on this site. The photos in the gallery will change from time to time and the number of photos may change as we hone our skills and find more images that we love. This website will continue to expand as we find more material related to our channel and to our adventures that we think others may find useful.

So, check out our channel at CattailChronicles on YouTube. If you like what you see don’t forget to hit that thumbs-up icon and if you really like the content subscribe to our channel. Thank you.
